I Like You

I was content being alone,
no reason left to care.
Sitting around in my home,
and suddenly you were there.

I gazed out my window at this man,
his smile could melt my heart.
Getting to know you would be a plan,
is there a chance for a start?

I ran to you with loving eyes,
I begged to know your name.
You looked at me strangely, as did other guys,
I felt embarassed and shamed.

You felt bad for being rude,
you grinned and said I looked nice.
To hear your voice one more time,
I'd pay the highest price.

Everyday I waited,
seeking out your face.
Feeling completely degrated,
I finally gave up the chase.

Back to being lonely again,
I guessed that was the end.
This mildly torn heart I had to mend,
so I called up all my friends.

Andy, Leila, Debra, Michelle.
Even Marc, Serena, and Joice.
Deanna, Karana, and Tommy as well,
but then I heard a voice.

The number of my friend Sheila's house,
but the voice belonged to a guy.
"I'm Sheila's brother," said the voice,
and then my heart did fly.

The man I had been looking for,
was only a dial away.
It was you, that smiling cutie,
I didn't know what to say.

I explained the situation,
mentioning every detail.
I let you know how I felt,
hoping I would not fail.

You just laughed and said to me,
"You know your pretty cute too,"
I answered oh so lovingly,
"I like you."

Well here we are, together.
Now you said I love you.
Well guess what my loverboy,
I love you too!
