Deciding to take a walk through the park Remembering our time here in the dark. Holding hands, looking into each others eyes During the warm and humid month of July. Why did you have to pick yourself up and move Our friendship was just getting to improve. Some other part of the world you desired Couldn't you see - it was you I admired. Knowing you left, never again to be seen Who could I turn to, on whom could I lean. Commitment I gave with my heart, oh so true So why were you giving me a cold adieu... Was there another lover in your life Perhaps she would become your second wife. My pride was hurt and to show you was wrong For you were whistling a happy-go-lucky song. Tomorrow will be another hot summer's day And alone in my bed, as always there I lay Dreaming of you will cause me to ache Oh, well, there went another rat snake!
