Deep within the halls of hell,
Lies the devil as he casts his spell.
Night begins to befall us all,
As demons rise to answer his call.

Hells' generals deploy unearthly spies,
As fire and brimstone fall from the skies.
Huge creatures with the blackest eyes,
Gnash at our throats and steal our sighs.

Men and women run insane,
As they scream from terror and their pain.
The devil reigns and laughs with glee,
Watching as mans blood floods the sea.

The sun reaches for the horizon to the
east,
As hells' minions continue their feast.
Lost spirits are bound and do not resist,
As cruel demons push and persist.

Who can save us here and now,
As souls wander and question how.

Dreams and visions come throughout the
night,
As a child appears within our sight.

Is this the saviour from out the light?
Can it be and are we right?

We are ready to stand and fight,
Looking to our saviour to show his might.

The child stands fearless and tall,
As he glides upon the devils' hall.
Devil and child are near and fast,
Face to face they are at last.

"Devil look at me, for here I am,
I've been sent as the Lord's lamb.
If for mans' saviour you search the skies,
Look before you, for it is I."

"A child?" The devil replied,
As he looked the boy over from side to
side.
"My son, resist me not; enjoy the ride,
For there isn't a place for you to hide."

"Devil, I can do no harm so fear it not,
However I am the saviour that is sought.
So watch me now and fear my power,
For when it's over you'll not stand but
cower."

With his hands he reaches into darkness
deep,
Pulling out a soul within its' sleep.
"Wake young, Mark. Wake up now."
As the devil observes with raised brow.

I awake quick, but am still drowsy,
Finding myself in darkness and cannot see.
I search for any lights around me,
Finally finding one setting my anxieties free.

A dream only a dream; I think,
And more into reality I sink.
The devils' reign has come to an end,
As I realize I'm in company of a friend.

Or so I thought,
Undeniably it was not.
For in the following night I couldn't pretend,
That I didn't have to fight hells' fire again.

Thanks, it was something I wanted to try and write. I normally don't write about topics such as these. I'm just trying to broaden my horizons....

Very very powerful as is most all your work -- glad I read it....I think I'll be good now...my little horns are reverting and I feel winglets sprouting! Oh won't everyone in here be surprised!! Really, I am an angel - - I keep trying to tell everybody that, but all the souls who've read my Adult poetry - they refuse to believe it!! LOL I'm still digging for more of your work, Mark! Keep it coming!
