What is love?
Love is soft and silly
When the time is just not right
Love can not see the clock
It doesn't know what numbers look like
Love is holding hands after fifty years
And after all this time its knowing he still cares
Its the way he looks at you, like you were twenty two
Even on your worse hair day's only beauty can he see
Lets not go into the fact his eyesight's history
Its best I think when shooting the moon, no dimples can he see
Only youthful feelings of passion for little old me
Its running out of numbers to count your blessings on
Designing all those dreams and making all those plans
Now sitting back enjoying them, together hand in hand
Even with his streaks of white that once were dark as night
You hardly ever notice that his hair has has gone from sight
As the glass sits upon the night sand that holds his pearly teeth
He never fails to pucker up, the sights beyond belief
Its the friendship that you started when you were only kids
Remembering his best line and the silly things you did
Its looking at the products that your love did copulate
And the little products they have made that have made your life so great
Its sorting out the fusses and who came out on top
Rekindling up the argument and laughing till you drop
Its looking where you stated and how it came to be
But its knowing that where you are, its always you and me
Its as long as we live no matter where we roam
With Love in our heart, we are never alone

Wow ... fifty years with one person seems like such a thing of the past these day's
I agree, I only hope I can make it to fifty years with one person still feeling as much love...enjoying as much laughter.. working on twenty :-) and counting....!!

I met my husband over twenty years ago.And
I can see how we are getting older together.
And it makes me sad to think about the days
past and the days to come.Very nice poem.
