On the field, in blood spilt long,
Lies an army, a legend, a song.
Amid their screams, forgotten the wrong,
Some sort of profit from the lifeless throng…

Of bodies lying still.

What gain in loss?
What profit in death?
Blades that sing proud,
Blades that steal breath.

Minstrels legends tell of Wars’ glory,
One hundred battles fought to live the story.
Closed the book, lifted the wool,
Drown we now slowly, in a blood filled pool.

But when asked why we fight, why we kill,
We answer with wrongs of right, and show with acts of thrill

We answer with bodies lying still.

great poem, really makes you think about war and what the good is in it.
IS THERE A SUCH THING AS A "JUST" WAR?
i think not
