A Distinguished Gentleman

This romantic feast
set before a hungry palette,
unleashes a slow-cooker barbecue
that's been sweetly simmering
since the beautiful moment
two wide open searching eyes...
Tasted the distinctive flavor
of a distinguished gentleman.

Winds of pleasure
seldom crossed
his darkened paths,
since he rode
a distinctively different horse.
A horse many say
was slyly eating away his life.

The pale, cold, lifeless, faces
that he cautiously
encountered each day,
hauntingly displayed
the perils that encroached
upon their lives.

He found it bitterly difficult
to cheerily involve himself
in delightful adventures
that took place
within the grasping reach
of his forever
understanding friends.

Then came an extraordinary day
no pale, cold, lifeless faces
to greet him this day.
Instead what appeared
before him...
A beautiful, warm, smiling face,
and two wide open searching eyes...

Balladeer: His reaction was positive, for their having a romantic feast. No sequel this is complete in itself. read Elvira response for she was right on.

Elvira: Great job seeing through this poem. You hit it perfectly.

Thank-you both for your responses.

Sorry for the Cellar Dweller post, it was me Lost Dreamer responding.

Andrew Scott: Thank-you very much for your kind and inspiring message. A question for you: What did you think was up?
