"The eons thrash and ages writhe,
As Legends turn to obscure myth,
But epochs speak still nothing of
How long it takes to fall in love."

Preferably, love should start by being friends. It is a matter of balance. The most we need is hugging, a bit of loving, good talk, a feeling of togetherness, in mind and soul. Someone you can be intimate with and share a certain freeness with, someone with whom to share the laughter. And most of all respect. It takes time and caring, there is no pefection, although we can dream.
This is what I feel after having shared 47  reasonably happy years with one man. Best marty

I've decided to try ignoring you.

.

Was that enough?

Happy Birthday Ron.

The years pass by uncounted
but the minutes I know by name
each second since Iíve loved you
no measurement is the same

The time it took to make a star
means naught to me you see
for in that star I see the love
that I wish you had for me

The jungle beasts may be subdued
but my heart will not be tamed
Iíll not hold back a nanosecond
though to say this, Iím ashamed

My love took not a moment
to find a home in my heart
I know not when it will end
nor am I sure when it did start

In the clock held in my heart
time is measured not in space
but measured in the times Iím held
within your loving embrace

Because I'm younger
I can wait
(as long as I don't smoke too much)
Because I'm braver
I can take
the pokes and prods of "that's enough"
of ladies of agility
wishing I would go away
and stop this plague
on your birthday
(as if I'd had enough to say)
Happy, happy, birthday sweets!

Kiss me! TWICE!
I'm Gemini!
Kiss me thrice
before I die
wishing you were mine...

(forgive me. I'm just bein' naughty.)

Truly inspiring!!!!  Have often pondered the moment of love.  I believe it is when we become selfless that it happens.  Just my own opinion.  Enjoyed the read.
