I am not God. I am not my God or anyone else's God. I am not a leader. I am not a president, a world leader, or a politician. I am not a hero. I am not a savior or a redeeming force; my deeds do not surpass that of anyone else I am not famous. I am not a symbol or an icon; I am not a household name. I am not perfect. I am not a supreme being, I have not reached the ultimate, I am not worthy of the title. But I am me. I am a living breathing human being, and there is no one, NO ONE else in this universe exactly like me. I am an individual with a life, a life that is mine and no one else's. I am the only person who has control of my life. No leader, no hero, no one famous, no one perfect has power over my life. True, God has given me each day as I live it, and yet I am STILL the only one who can make it or break it. I can choose whether to make the day the best it can be, or to let it go to waste. And these days put together make up this precious life that is all my own. I may not always be biggest, best, or first, but I am alive, and I can live each day to it's potential, and THAT is up to no one else but me. |

seems like "self" is all of the sudden becoming a popular poetry topic; well, we can at least rest assured that it's a topic that can be widely covered  thanks for your reply |
