Lo! the mountain, as clouds above roll,
in vast air and earth beneath casting
shadowing trees and savannah, unraining
as lonely clouds float ocean to ocean,
and the wind hum in his ears once more
till earth stops its spin and the air rotates no more.
A flash took place and life stopped,
all immobile, frozen in midstride of what shall be,
fast as lightning, as proud as of old
with what remained, Kyle's ever-calm smile,
his blue shirt frosty as sky, layered by a necklace
and a ring yet, both bearing beautiful crosses
so he would remember, at every glance,
how he loved all and banished evil
into its eternal tomb, and on the rock he sat,
not caring, but smiling as in peace,
while the savannah behind met mountainside,
and a cold creek dashed past small rocks,
and pine trees withstood the sun's wrath,
but the picture hurts, to see one so changed,
once face soft, now hard as mountains,
and smile gone, replaced by battle scar,
while here I sit, with no necklace,
and eyes shunning years, weary face of torment,
as shuddering memories replace warm ones,
but in memories, a small voice still sings
that life is ever more a dream within a dream.

Wow! eloquent, wonderful images, seems to be
one reflecting on his past, though I may be
mistaken. after reading several times,
discovered it could be interpreted differently...
Insight Artur? Really love this one...

I really appreciate what you have said. Last night, my mom and I were looking through pictures, and I found one where I was sitting on this rock with mountains in the background, and I said, "This is my favorite, can I keep it?" She let me. Then later, I decided to write a poem on it.

What I did was extract the picture into words, and express my feelings when I looked at the picture. It's all basically straightforward. And yeah, all the details meet the picture! I appreciate what you have said...
