(Hello! I've just been to a lecture on Shakespeare's Sonnets - what a great way to spend a morning. Here's an offering of my own, though nothing like the master of course!)

By that foaming ocean
I walked and your voice
wet my face
in the cold salt spray

Solitary sneaker prints
and your sunny sky eyes
in the sharp sand

I smelled the wind
rushing your scent
through my crazy hair

You drown me

Striding on the shore
by wild ocean strength
I choke with liquid love
in my seaside cell

Wish I could taste the sea
forget you for salt
and seaweed

You're everywhere

Good poem. The man you describe appears to pick up the attributes of the environment, becomes the sea, a power metaphor for love.

Wow is all can say....where do I begin? What a wonderful feeling I get when I read this...it's like I'm tasting salt, man!! Good work!

I'm back here in the depths of this vault, dusting off some really old stuff..(he he) and thought this one definately deserved to go back for another round. I just love how vivid the imagery is in this! I'm a salt-aholic, so maybe that explains it??

Ah - another good one surfaces - I missed so many good poems during those couple of weeks - This is a lovely poem - (not a sonnet, and not Shakespearean of course) but a truly good poem....Very nice, indeed...
