In the sunrise of my days,
I learned how to laugh and live,
I learned to crawl and I learned to walk,
I learned how to take and to give.
I learned the meaning of yes,
More importantly the meaning of no.
I learned the difference of wish and want,
I learned how to stop and to go.

In the noon hours of my days
I'm learning to give more than take.
To hope for the best, give to God the rest
To cherish each morning I awake.
Make memories for me to share,
With little ones in later years.
Keep the good from the bad, happy from sad,
Make laughter the reason for tears.

In the sunset of my days,
I pray I've learned what you need.
You'll seek me for wisdom and find it there,
Hopefully, of most you'll take heed.

And when the sun is setting,
And you find the light has dimmed,
I hope you'll remember the days gone by,
And can say you cherish them,
Adjust the light of yourself,
And make it shine ever bright.
For you'll light the ways of those you love,
Through the dark of night.

Wonderful! Very well written and full of truth. I loved it! I'm bringing this forward for others to respond. I'll look forward to reading more of your works.

Very nice progression through life, Auntie shhh. Nicely wrapped together, too.
