Go then, artist!
Leap into that white canvas!

Become the paints,
The painter,
The painted--
And leave behind the
Ones who doubt
The magic of camel-hair color;
Feather wisps of imagination
Drawn from a deeper well.

Be then, sculptor!
Reach into that marble slab!

Become the stone,
The chisel,
The hammer--
And mirror back those
Endless eyes
That see things as
They really are.
Create the likeness
Of liquid dream,
To soothe with
Satin stares.
