This drivel is to the tune of the Gilligan's Island Theme, but with many an extra verse between the beginning and the end. Enjoy.

------------------------------------------

Just sit right back, and hear my tale,
A tale of a noble dame.
She started out on "Diff'rent Strokes,"
and Enda was her name.....Edna was her name.

She cleaned, and mopped and cooked for them,
a meat-loaf loved by all.
But spat on Arnold's catch-phrases,
spoke in a Harlem drawl....in a Harlem drawl.

She cared for those restless Jackson kids,
said Drummond, 'She's no wife,'
So she kicked poor Dudley in the nads,
and left for 'The Facts of Life'...left for the "Facts of Life."

Now here Mrs. Garrett soon became,
the leader of the pack.
Sweet teenage girls soon replaced,
Willis smoking crack....Willis smoking crack.

Each week we tuned in on command,
Not guessing that the trick,
Was that we all were hypnotized,
by the song by Alan Thicke...the song by Alan Thicke.

Sweet Edna Garrett hung in strong,
for year after pain-filled year.
But when they bought that supid store,
She got her ass in gear...got her ass in gear.

Oh how that show did make me wish,
I was a nubile teenage lass.
Today I am in therapy,
with a thong upon my ass...a thong upon my ass.

I know I could have hung with them, those classic 80's babes,

There's Natalie,
and Tootie too,
Jo Polniazek and her bike,
the airhead Blair
Miss Edna and all the rest.
Sweet God they've ruined my life.

You praise, as always, inspires us Balladeer.

We have put our collective mind together and will tap its bottomless resource of icons from the decade of biggest hair. More to come.

Your talents are uncomparable. You are truely unique, and I mean that in the best possible way. Keep 'em comin'.

I am in constant awe of your talents...

She's a beautiful woman, god bless her soul, putting up with all those 80's icons gone wrong...

Thank you very much for the praise. It shall fuel the fire of our 70's/80's tribute poems.

Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs has always had far too few poems devoted to him. We seek to remedy situations like that.
