You had us watching when you were three,
On such a very sad day.
You raised your hand, to salute your dad
As he was carried away.

You had us watching as a man,
Walking by your sisters side.
A time that should have been private for you,
Telling your mother "Good-bye."

We couldn't watch in later years,
As you eluded the press.
Your wedding, private, you had it your way,
No one could even guess.

But we've been watching the past few days,
In hopes that they have found.
Drifting and waiting for his rescue,
The little boy we called John-John.

(Our prayers are for the Kennedy family)

I expected someone to write a tribute before now. Lovely. Stirs memories.

I wanted to, but the words were hard to come by. I guess my age carries my grief deeper than I would have wanted. Thank you for the beautiful words.
