Note: the first prayer was posted on another forum and used in the first Passionate Newsletter (thanks to Ron). The second poem was just written.

Poetís Prayer

Why must I write at this hour?
While other mortals sleep?
When all is quiet I will arise
and to my computer will creep.

So full is my soul of words unspoken
of feelings I must share.
I rise again, in the dead of night
and begin my poetís prayer.

Deliver me from pedantry,
from silly limerick ways.
Give me depth and heart and love
and sometimes, give me praise.

Poetís Prayer Upon Posting

Why must I post again tonight
have I not learned from the past?
Though laboring over this epistle
it will fly, unread to the last.

So full is the forum of new poetry,
some better than others you know,
discouraging me from giving my best
Ďcause itís down to the bottom, itíll go.

Deliver me from jealousy
from meanness and from spite
Give me patience to peruse
those other poems posted tonight.

Poet DeVine, this was fine
you've read my thoughts out loud,
now you and I, on the fly
will whisk away from this maddening crowd.

I'll keep you on top,
you can do the same;
together we will rise to the top
Poet and Sun, to fame!

Good job! Enjoy ALL of your works.

I don't believe there is one of us here that can deny the truth of your words. Well said poet most deVine. You shall forever have my deserving praise.

This is, as we speak, being printed on glossy photo paper. I'll have it framed and on the wall in no time. Thank you again, Lady deVine.
