SIT AND TALK

I had the greatest time with her today

She brought along a friend of hers

I guess to chaperone

Her heart and mine are all a blur

So we really shouldn't be alone

Who knows what might happen?

All we did was sit and talk

The sun was King and the wind was his messenger

Bringing us a message of warmth and friendship

She has such kind eyes

And she calls me handsome

But I'm too shy to tell her I think she is beautiful

And she's too shy to tell me she knows that I think

She is beautiful

So all we do is sit and talk.

And for once I may leave it that way.

Why? Because the

Minute you say you love someone, you

Tell them they are no longer good enough

Something has to change--something that is never you

Someone or something has to go or you will go

We can never, ever, ever love people for

Who they really are,

Only for who we want them to be.

So that means, that if

All we can do right now is

Sit and Talk

In order to keep things perfect

In order for us both to have our fantasies about

What could be If And Only If or

What Could Come, You Never Know

Then I will not do one thing

To spoil the fun that we are having.

So for now,

All that she and I will do is

Sit and Talk. And when she

Looks at me with those rosewood eyes

And I hear her laugh trickle like a brook

I will for that moment know what it

Means to be happy.

Welcome to the family! I thought this poem was good, so as I do with every new poet, I went to your web site.

I think you made it clear that the site is not for anyone under 18, which is good. What I read was interesting. The poem "Animal" was disturbing to me, though well done, only because of the content.

I would ask that if you decide to post any of those here, you would ask for permission to post on the adult forum, as that is where they belong.

Again, welcome. Enjoy yourself here!

Disturbed you? How do you think I felt???? I was thinking it!!!!!

I think I have some things I need to work out, and the poetry helps, along with my recent interest in Zen. The Zen idea of noticing thoughts as a means of letting them go is actually working for me.

There will be more dark poems and light ones, sent to their appropriate forums, of course.
