I looked into the Thesaurus large
and found a word today
On Objectivity, as I wanted to know
just what the book would say.

Fairness was the first word there
Neutrality followed suit
Impartiality took its part
with Justice as a root.

Lack Of Prejudice stood out clear
and Probity took its rightful place
Candor sort of screamed out loud
and Equality kept the pace.

With all these key words leading to the meaning
of Objectivity, I thought “hummm”
now I wonder at the opposites,
and checked the Antonyms.

Introspective; Emotional and Subjective
these three words to give us pause;
how they tear at all of the above
just as if they had claws.

Introspective means to Muse
Contemplate and become Pensive;
Emotional comes from loving
and can end up being quite expensive.

Subjective casts some fancy
sweet Illusions grand
some Imagined, some Unreal,
and Biased takes the stand.

So what does all of this mean to you?
Nothing, admittedly, I am sure.
I was just looking for an exercise
to use as a poetry cure.

Is this a suggestion for some of us to expand our vocab? *LOL* Well, its certainly the most enjoyable way for us to learn new words! Excellent!

Well done Sunshine. Nice little piece of work there and, on a deeper level, carries a worthwhile message.

Thanks, Lenny. Can you imagine what would happen if all of PiP's poets took one word a day...this forum would mushroom like never before...
