Tingling through her pores
Dancing between the prints of her fingertips
Her energy is compressed
With the clentch of her fist.

Heart drops from merely a kiss
Sprouting security
Shouting trust
Blooming lust in gentle shades of red.

But lips have a tendency to part
When speaking of how things
Just aren't meant to be.

Stifling predictions
Of only memories rising from her lover's
Side of the bed tomorrow,
Smiling as usual,
dressing before her...slowly,
Smothers her thoughts
within a bed unmade.

So tonight she'll draw the shade
To block the morning sun.
