shadows have you noticed how they are always there? shadows sticking to us just like glue. sometimes even on a cloudy day we can't lose them. ALWAYS there mocking us, chasing us, never letting go. just as shadows can be big or small, fat or thin, long or short, our fears are many. and try as we might, we cannot outrun them. some fears fill us with terror while others just nag. hanging round behind us. they are just out of sight, but we know they are there. and each time we try to catch one to defeat it, it manages to be just out of our reach. and the harder we try the more frustrated we become. the answer to conquering our fears is the same as conquering our shadows. all we have to do is seek the shelter of shade. once that is done then the shadows disappear, melt and become one with the shade. learn to let go of your fears, cut them loose, let them slip into the shade of your knowledge. knowledge will absorb those fears much as shade does the shadows. just as shade cools us absorbing shadows, knowledge cools our fears. ~ celtic rose, 1999 ~ |
