I never knew that fateful day
That I would fall upon the grass.

I couldn’t skin my knee, not me,
I fell upon my ass.

There rose a bruise so bright and gay
it shone all black and blue.

I remember saying shucks and darn
and other swear words too.

I sat on ice the whole day long
and pondered on my fate

This is the first and last time
I try to rollerskate!

I walk with a limp, (a kind of drag)
to get from here to there.

My legs are tired from walking cause
I can’t even sit in a chair!

I’ll be back to work before long
and finish out the week,

But please remember, when greeting me,
don’t pinch my poor left cheek!

You've written that all to well for it now to be true! Or at least drawn from a similar experience! I bid a quick mend to you!
