Nocturnal Kiss

The silence is eerie
I’m late… did he leave?
He asked me to meet him
At the start of the eve
My eyes are adjusting
To the lack of light
The hairs on my arms
Are standing in fright
The darkness is deafening
No sound does escape
Then suddenly I glimpse
His signature cape
Why does he not speak
If he is already here?
Is he enjoying
Seeing my fear?
I call out his name
But receive no reply
Then I feel his cold hand
And I finally sigh
I laugh at my terror
Afraid of the night!
Then my senses all leave
Some things not right…
He’s kissing my neck
But his caress is so sharp
From somewhere there’s music
The sound…a harp?
But this could not be real
In this day and age
When reggae and hip hop
Are all the rage
I’m growing weak
From his sweet kiss
I raise my hand
Wait…what is this?
The stain on my neck
Where his lips had been
I cannot believe
This has happened!
I awake to the eve
My senses are tight
To the ever clear fact
I no longer live in the light.

Excellent vampire piece! I have an old friend who teached gothic fiction, I'm going to show her this one...she'll eat it up!

i never call a poem "nice" or such,
