The Steamy Desert

The Return

The lights flickered and I slowly grew pale
The music drifted through the still night air
I suddenly sensed your presence was there
A ship upon the sea has now set sail

I shivered and felt so lonely and frail
I remembered we made such a great pair
As my eyes began to search and stare
And teardrops remind me how I did fail

The life we’d chosen to share together
Was ended for you and I forever

When the coffin was lowered the music played
I was all alone now and so afraid

But your ghost has come to take me away
And I shiver because I want to stay.

Let my words fall first upon deaf ears before a closed mind...
