For Linda,

As I lay sleeping, so alone last night,
I drempt that I woke and wondered why,
as my eyes opened, amazed at the sight,
A bridge is there, a rainbow in the sky.

It spans the Earth, as far as I can see,
beneath the rainbow I see no pot of gold,
but beneath instead, there stands our tree
with its beauty, strength and grace untold.

One end of the rainbow, so close, so near
Though it arches up, west and ever so high,
Up I climb, and I know not fear
On I climb, up, up, well into the sky.

The pinnacle comes close, anxious, I lengthen my stride
but why I wonder, what's up here, why must I go?
Oh! Now I see, there on the other side
You too are climbing, east, up that lovely rainbow.

You come near and I reach for your hand,
There atop a rainbow, at least in this dream
We gaze at the wonders, the beauty of this land,
Below is our tree, in a meadow with flowers and a stream.

Listen to the breeze, as through the leaves it blows,
it whispers a tale of times and souls who have gone,
By our tree, through the meadow, by the stream that flows
It tells of children playing and lovers it has known.

We raise our eyes heveanward, and thanks we give,
for this time together, for the wonders we share,
To the God so merciful, who made us to live,
In peace and harmony, with full hearts that care.

But then I awoke and here in mornings light,
I know the journey was only in my mind,
but thank you God, for that dream I dreamt last night,
It's wonderful know him, That Father so kind.

Welcome to the family! Excellent poem to join us with! I went to your site and I think you should post your poems there! I didn't send an e-mail to your dog as we have not been properly introduced!

For Myself, I live,
Live intensely and am fed by life,
and my value, whatever it be, is in my own kind of expression of that. *Henry James
