Competition I have nothing to offer to bring you back No fancy car, no diamonds or gold All I can give is what you lack Warm arms forever to hold I am not the beauty she seems to be My figure no longer a “Ten” All I have is the memory And a heart to love you again I cannot be a mystery to you You know me inside and out All I have left are emotions true And desire that knows no doubt I have nothing to give that can be seen Just a smile at the end of the day I no longer am the beauty queen But my loyalty never does stray I dare not compete with her flirtatious will I offer only my eyes full of pride She coyly gets men to give her a thrill Mine comes from having been your bride I cannot make you love me again If you say its over, we’re through I can only pray you’ll remember then How very much I always loved you. ------------------ Let my words fall first upon deaf ears before a closed mind... |
