She Was Watching Me

Darkest demon from the depths of Hell
Came in the night to weave its spell
In the eyes of those who fear it
I heard tell of that evil spirit
But in it's eyes of charcoal black
I saw a secret that took me back
To a time when I was blind
Only knowing what my hands could find

That cloudy night I could not see
Then, I knew she was watching me
For from the window in the skies
I saw the anguish in her eyes
But all alone her eternal gaze
Wiped away the thickening haze
And I remembered, things of night
Can't cause mischief, immersed in light
When I knew there'd be nothing more
I showed the devil out the door

Very effective, indeed, my friend. Love the lines, "And I remembered, things of night/Can't cause mischief, immersed in light".

Yuh, I think this is great.
