Poets are magicians
With pen and pad
They can make you
Happy or sad.
Poets take
What people say
And turn it around
Some other way.
They look at life's
Simple pleasures
And turn them into
Brilliant treasures
They work with style
Grace and speed
And write what people
Enjoy to read.

Poets are magicians

Poets use mere words
As tools
They tell of the little ways
That people are cruel
They twist and turn And make it burnAbout cruel things They make you think
Even at times
When you'd rather blinkOr close your eyes And take a drink
Poets keep us Down to earthBy reminding us How it hurts.

this is a cute piece- and I don't mean that in a bad way... I like the rhythm and the poem flows smooth... good job
