You get a dish of ice cream and leave the scoop on the sink.
Why donít you rinse it off? Donít you even stop to think?
You leave your socks piled up sometimes itís two feet thick.
Youíre just an old dog who canít be taught a new trick.

You shower in the morning and leave the towel on the floor.
No paper on the roll - I canít take it anymore!
The lid is always up - Itís enough to make me sick!
Youíre just an old dog who canít be taught a new trick.

Lights left on all over, newspaper on the table.
I might overlook your mess but I know that you are able.
These annoying habits of yours, I would never pick.
Youíre just an old dog who canít be taught a new trick.

The candle of my patience is burning down the wick Ė
Youíre just an old dog who canít be taught a new trick.

I have met many "old dogs", and I haven't stuck with any one of them. I know exactly where you're coming from.
