You take pen in hand
and I sigh.

Holding my breath
you know why.

The words you cannot
say to me

Come from your pen
most eloquently.

I wait to read
words you never speak

Words that thrill me
and leave me weak

Your truth is pure
your soul sublime

I hunger for each
loving rhyme

And though our bodies
never meet

I’ve felt your touch
in your words, my sweet.

deVine one, this is truly beautifully done. No words wasted and the meaning loud and clear. Excellent job!

Dear Poet o'mine
it is not simply your words that rhyme
for your soul sings aloud in time
and to that height we wish to climb.

I've been on the other end of this complaint
with a mate who shows no restraint
he cannot understand why the words flow on
nor why I need to release them before I'm gone.

No romantic bone in his body true
He is more meat and potatoes; I'm the stew
He is black and white, and I see a lot of grey
So I'm glad you are here, to make my day.
