The light is so bright it shines like stars in the middle of the night
Glowing hues of iridescent color dance it's way across the open skies
Shadows of darkness flicker below interfering with the given light
As the ocean sounds it's splashing waves and stillness echoes it's cry

Oh light, how big and round you are as I view your flawless perfection
Your rays reflect the rainbow colors of droplets in an ocean mist
Your inner shapes and lines I follow tracing them in all directions
In the sinking sand lies evidence of life's turns and twist

Simplicity does not become you, for you change you shape and size
By day you hide behind the clouds, while at night you shine your light
You amaze the boundaries of the imagination, creating heavenly skies
To me you'll always be the one who shines all through the night
