My life was ruled by depression
My lover was tired of my lack of ambition
She was not like I was
She had will
She had seen a lot of grief
And I could see
That she hadn’t escaped unaffected
But she was a winner
And I a loser
But still she loved me
And remember she was a winner

She told me about rehabilitation
I said oh but I won’t be told to sleep
To think happy thoughts and be a happy boy
Lord I didn’t even want to leave my cabin
Sometimes still I feel this way

But I went
And I argued to myself
Is what the doctor’s saying true
My brain is misfiring beams
What of my soul
My heart
Intangible things
Wrapped up neatly
In a fixable thing
A little purple pill
Twice a day
With a glass of water
Call you in the morning
If I feel like it

Now my lover is my wife
And my brain doesn’t miss so much
And I still believe in God
But I wonder even still
If there’s a God why’s there a pill

i've never tried free verse and maybe this is not the final draft but please if you have anythin to say do say it

Hehe - looks to me like even when you try free verse, it comes out rhyming...
