Immortal majesty, I wander the clouds
Jump from mountain top to mountain top
And swim alongside endless fish
Yet today my feet lit upon
An island overgrown
With vines and trees and shrubs
So intricately woven
The touch of a god must have been here

I can not help but wonder
What piece of mortality could be so grand
That one of my kin should protect it?
As that god has twined these branches
So I am fit to unravel

A grove, a simple grove
No holy marks or shrines
I look about for something majestic
But all I find is a sleeping lady
A slumbering mortal woman

The noise of my steps, my breath
The aura of my closeness
Fail to wake her
and I become amused

She turns my way as I approach
Suddenly I jerk my feet back
I choose my steps more carefully
In fear of waking her

Me? A god?
Afraid to wake a mortal?
Yet as I look at her face
I feel that she is more holy
Than I could ever be

So into my arms she comes
Sweeping her up to my mountain palace
Still she slumbers
Still I yearn
Still I envy

I lay her head on my pillow
And I ponder who I am
Until I fall asleep on the floor
