A haunting tune from the room next to mine;
Once it may have been wistful;
Now it's empty.
The innocence of children who can do no harm;
Playing with dolls,
Drawing pictures on napkins;
Why must they learn,
Become enlightened?
The beauty in their eyes once so bright;
Becomes Dull.
I guess we all should know of hatred
Apathy, murder, and greed.
But why must it dull the hope in their eyes?
The haunting tune goes on.
