What a pretty little halo you wear tonight
Wrapped around your beautiful night.
Sweeping out from behind the clouds
Your softly glow the earth enshrouds.
How dainty and lovely among all things
Is your irredescent gleaming.
You bring night a solitude like heaven
Oh, beautiful universal beacon.
Your nights bring all you look on to lull
Oh moonlight, my moon,,, when you are full.

(the moon is full tonight and as beautiful as ever, i suggest you take a look before you sleep tonight ... can you be in love with a heavenly body? )

Let me have the honor being the first to reply, I love this snippet of your soul and wait with anticipation for the next.

As for being in love with Heavenly Bodies, of course, I love YOU, after all.

You made me think of my three year old who is enthralled with "mister moon." Thanks.

I didn't take a look at the moon yet but it's been keeping me awake at night shining through the window shades the way it has been. I like this poem a lot! And the halo around the moon, how about seeing a rainbow around the sun up on the mountains of Colorado?

One night, I stamped out of the house,
To lie on the grass and stare at the stars.
Now, I know not why, I did stamp,
but that night, I did lose my soul.
For I did see, the shooting stars,
hours I watched, and hours I stared,
But to what I next saw, nothing did they compare...
A giant fireball come in close,
A burning basketball,
Flying near, Flying big,
I felt I could have touched it,
Had I but stood and reached,
But no sooner did I see it,
than half an instant later,
It vanished into the darkness of the night,
Taking my soul with it,
and releasing it to the stars.
And now My soul, the stars forever hold,
Never to let go.

Yes, I am in love with the stars.
A glimmering ring They have offered me,
A ring of fire from the sky,
A proposal of marraige,
and I did accept.
And now my soul is forever bonded,
to the stars above the sky.
