There is no darkness here
only the twilight of another day
softly spoken night words of love
are all you’re allowed to say.

Bring your heart into this quiet
and lay down upon my breast
breathe slowly and enjoy
the solitude of this rest.

Worry not about the morrow
it will be there when you wake
put yourself into my hands
you give and I will take.

Give me your harried worries
give me your day of stress
I’ll take your cares and stroke them,
soothe them with my caress.

In perfect harmony, we’ll sit
and wait til your soul is eased
then with your smile, I’ll know
that you have been well pleased.

Beautiful! I could feel how calm it was when I read it. You know what it reminded me of? This one poem by Longfellow, I think it was called "Day is Done" or something. Another good one, Poet deVine!

Rest, Balladeer. Even the greatest of poet must relax and think of nothing sometimes. There I'll stroke your head...smooth your brow...quiet, quiet now..............

A truly delightful slice of soul.

I honestly can say that brought the image of God and the Heavens. .. with the words of "There is no darkness here." The words you described can also be used to describe how God is like a Father to us all. . . soothing us and comforting us. Thank you for this spiritual revival!

deVine - This is really nicely done, as usual - I expect nothing else from you....
One thing's for sure - There's no resting around here!!

I can relate to it, in a funny sort of way. When I read this poem, I thought about this morning when a shy girl around seven years old at the summer camp was afraid of the mime who came, and she came to me and held my hand, while the mime was there. I thought it brought back the same feeling as that moment. Well done deVine!

Miss DeVine, add this to my list for favorite poem of thine! I loved it more than I can say in words!

------------------
For sometimes when the Darkness falls, we must surrender, take what is ours, and give what we can, and always remember love is somewhere waiting...
