saudade (so-dad)

saudade, my love, saudade. saudade is bittersweet, it is
beautiful, it is lonely, it is lovely.
saudade is a word which signifies my loneliness, my
emptiness, my frustration, my love, my joy.

all emotions produced by my feelings for you. i sometimes
wonder how it is possible to love someone like you, but
love you i do. you are my life, you are my one.

i know that i will always feel this way - you are the one
i've waited for, longed for, hoped for.
loving is not easy - with it comes many highs and lows, but
it is pure - in my case, "saudade."

saudade because with you i have the "presence of absence."
it is how you are - how you'll always be ... and,
why i love you and will love you ever.

in your presence of absence, i love you more. you must be
that way, and i would never ask you to change.
it is why i love you, and if you were to change for me - i
could not love you - you would not be the same.

but, if you were to change because you would choose to, i
would love you still. mever change because it is
expected of you - only change because you want to.

saudade is the way i can express to you that i do
understand you, and that i love you and do
not want you to change. i love the man you are with all your
quirks and love you because of them.

saudade, my love, saudade. you are my life, you are my one,
and i will love you ever in our "presence of absence."
