Half-Asleep Shadows

A man awoke.
But half-asleep shadows fell across his path
And locked him in his space and time.

And he cursed the motion of the world,
Tracing his fingers over the scars of his nobility.

Standing still amidst the tempest
Unswaying, unswayed.

His soul crumbled-
And was heavy, like sand in his shoes.
