who do you talk to when everyone's dead?
where do you go when it's all been torn down?
what do you say when it's already been said?
how do you smile when it's really a frown?
when nothing seems real
and everything's lost,
it's time to pay your price
and you can't afford the cost.
why does it have to happen this way?
did it happen to you, or is it just me?
i thought i knew them, but i was wrong.
a dial tone screams from the phone.
perhaps they were dead all along,
and that's why i sit alone.
