She Picks Her Words Like Flowers

She picks her words like flowers,
Holds them tightly in her fingers
As she gently rubs the petals
For their delicate perfume.

Arranged like tragic symphonies,
Bouquets of timeless mysteries
Are thrust into my empty hands—
The thorns bite through my skin.
