i remember the last few moments
the last few moments of us
clinging to each second
i knew when you were gone that you were gone
us was over
so inconceivable
this was forever
can forever be now
shrouded by disbelief
i ignore the inevitable
i say what you want to hear
i am what you want
unable to understand
i nod, i agree, i die
everything was us
until us said goodbye

evolution,

very sad tone to this one, and a bit hopeless.

"i say what you want to hear" nice; so often roles reverse.
