Christina Myers makes a good point... All of you are posting new poems at a phenomenal rate every day - much faster than you're commenting upon others' postings.
As a matter of fact, our membership is skyrocketing. Every time I open the forum, there are several new people registered (and I really TRY to greet you all). Can you imagine Ron's attempting to read all of these poems by himself? No wonder he gave us this forum - He may be a poetry addict, folks - but even HE can't keep the pace you guys are setting (and he thinks I can?)... I'm certainly not complaining. Keep those keyboards humming!
Do try, however, to comment upon each other's work more. Each of you hopes to see comments on your own work when you return to the forum, and so do your colleagues.
This program works well because it's so interactive - much like a family - and supporting each other is an integral part of its success. So, if you see that some poems have no responses, check them out... You may just find a masterpiece that everyone else has missed. Your posted comment will then bring that poem back into the limelight... "front and center", as they say.
What to comment? - Whatever you feel... Ron and/or I will "edit" only when your poetry or comment is unnecessarily derogatory (constructive criticism is encouraged) - graphically lewd - unpoetically profane - or the like. If you're wondering if a posting is appropriate, you might consider the "Adult Forum". It probably will get even more attention there - ya think??

My SUGGESTION - For each poem you post, comment on at least two or three others... constructive critique, or just a gesture of appreciation - Try it - You'll like it!!
HAPPY POSTING TO ALL......

ANY QUESTIONS????

I also think it's a good idea, with so many new members, to go as far back to the beginning of the forum and reply to a poem that may have been posted in the beginning of the forum. This way we can let the 'newbies' see some of the first poetry here.
Thanks Nan, for getting us in shape!

I feel I must admit
that I am guilty of the truth of it!

I've posted poems expecting to hear
a word or two from others here,
and yet I haven't quite took part
in responding to him who echoed his heart.

Do you think the format of the forum
has something to do with lack of decorum?

Well, I don't know
but if that's not so,
tomorrow, I'll go back in time
and respond to those who posted rhyme--

But please don't push the envelope!
RESPOND TO ME OR I CAN'T COPE!

(;-) just joking)

(Hey, Nan! It's a big www, eh, what? Sorry haven't had much time lately)

You've now been seen....

I see your name
Up with the rest
There's no such thing
Here as a guest!!

So comment please

Ok, Miss Ness, I catch your drift,
But finding time has got me miffed.
If I had time to hang out here
Like you and handsome Balladeer
There'd be no time for cooking soup
Or play with Alicia's hoolahoop
Or supervising teenage boys
Who's days are filled with 'lectric toys
Like amps, guitars and techno noise.

And apart from that, when would I work?
Should I just quit and Forum Lurk
And write a verse or ten each day,
Forgetting 'bout the need of pay?

My dilemma isn't odd.
(Well, perhaps it is on old Cape Cod).

But, my friend, I promise this,
Each time I post a poem, dear Miss,
I vow that I'll respond to two
Since that's the proper thing to do!

One question, first, Miss AnswerNESS
How to get MORE responsiveness
From critics, poets, hanging here--
Like handsome, kind, dear Balladeer?

I guess this poet's pretty hot.
I have it right? Or do I not?
Sometimes he gets 13 responses!
To me, I guess that's just what hot is!

Oh well, thank God we have this forum
And soon we'll all learn right decorum.
For this, we thank our net-god Ron!

(Ummm, don't feel obligated to respond.)

While she's adrift;
Some are aground.

For she did post
A fine display;
That's more than most
Can say today.

So she's exempt

On, top, at any cost!
Especially when teaching the rules of this place,

Don't lose you place in line, my friend;

Great ideas
by one and all
We post our work
here with no fees

At least we can
Do what the leader says
Do me one favor
If you will

Please respond to
my poetry
but please be kind
as I've done to all

Have all fun and games
around here
but please remember
post your thoughts
hates and desires in
these fun forums

But also
to use our kind new
decorums
(hehehe ran out of an end sorry)

Not the best response but it did only take about 5 minutes -- it's the thought that counts hehehe

Nan this place is SOOOOOOOOOOOOO much more fun than the Scroll. Do you agree? Thanx for getting involved so we could move to a new neighborhood. That old one was becoming a real poetic ghetto. Make sure this one doesn't "scroll" down that same road.

Just when I was beginning to whine
that no one was reading poetry of mine
all those eggs out there unread
then back to the top and this message says

"read the ones left undone!"
or words to that effect
and I thought heck
I've been doing my part, hon!

So Nan, back to the top once again
so all the new kids can see where we've been
to niggle their brain with thoughts anew
and to comment and critique, they ought to do.

Please forgive me for posting too much
I really try to keep others in touch
You see, I can't sleep late at night
And here I've found a place to write

I try to reply to as many as I post
And really its to the credit of our host
who created a site for which I'm addicted
You see I've really become quite afflicted!

But I promise to do whatever I can
To keep my post down, my reply's up again
And bring this post back to the top of the list
To be read by those who it may have missed!

I agree with every one of you!
Read the poems and tell the truth!
The praise you get is so worthwhile!
It will surely make you smile!
So after reading one or two,
let the author hear from you!
And in return the author might
read your work and give insight!
Nan knows what she's talkin' 'bout!
Respond, she says! There's not a doubt!
Just give a little of your time,
and you'll get praised for every rhyme!

Okay?

To rhyme
Or not to rhyme?
That is the question
Or not?
NOT!

I was really gonna try,
Really...
Honestly...
I'm not lying...
Or not?

actually...*grins*, I was...
but I gave up when I looked at the HTML stuff...hehehehe!

To each and every Poet here
And the Esteemed Master Balladeer
I bid Salutations to all of you,

Nan your words are spoken true
I wish every one would read, and do

Maybe if upon the form,
we fill out to join the forum
If the words were written there

All would start with a grand post
By replying to our Gracious host
A challenge, some may say
But I think it might work out this way
Then this message would stay on top

And not one post would sit alone
And feel that they knocked,
when no one was home

If I sit and read a spell
I'll do my part and reply as well

Oh yes, Nan these words are right
If you post you must reply

Don't worry about the numbers game
Every pome in whom evers name
Is from a heart just the same
