She watched the shadows fall
And darken the confines of her room;
His shadow loomed upon the wall,
Four walls that felt like a tomb.

It was her trust upon which he preyed,
He knew she would submit to shame;
He was stronger than her, so she obeyed,
And he labeled her with the blame.

Only four walls to watch her cry,
Since he was blind to her childish defense;
Words of love were his promise and lie,
She fell victim to his well-planned pretense.

She was left to watch the shadows fall
And darken the confines of her room;
His shadow loomed upon the papered wall,
Those four walls that felt like a tomb.

Incest is far too prevalent in our society. This poem is a reflection of the dark shadows lurking in the corners of our world...

What an intense horrific sin captured in a poem, very unnerving and thought provoking...Great work!
