If one day there comes a time
you wake and find me gone.
I hope you have the strength of heart
to smile and still live on.

For if I have a chance to give
one final loving wish.
I would hope that you would smile
and fondly think of this.

A time when we were so in love
and the feelings that invokes.
The giddiness of new found love
and the fires that it stokes.

For if one day I found myself
standing all alone
I would smile and think of you
and the house we made a home.

Then after I had grieved a bit
and let my soul cry out.
I would stand and search again
because that’s what life’s about.
