(response to Elizabeth's post in poetry challenge)

It has been many days
Since I saw you last
I once saw you often
But now that has passed

Our paths have diverged
You've gone your own way
The next time I see you
There are things I should say

I should tell you first
That you've been a great friend
A shoulder to cry on
One on whom to depend

I really should tell you
We could have been more
I thought you might want that
But I could not be sure

And so I kept silent
I keep silent still
Needing to love you
Knowing I never will

I sit here so lonely
Wanting for your smile
Wishing you were with me
If only for a while...

Gawd, don't you hate it when you want someone so bad, and instead of telling them, you just sit there in a puddle of your own misery???!!!

Exellent work, deserves a boost up to the top!! Yes, it does suck when you want someone so badly, but don't do anything about it..until you do something.

I like the way you've expressed your feelings in this piece, nicely done!

I have read this a few times and, each time, I like it more.

In fact, I like it lots.
