I threw myself a party
But no body would come
Because this kind of party
Isn't very much fun

I sat and talked all by myself
About the sad events
That plague my life so endlessly
Of which there's no defense

I told myself how said it was
That no one nurtures me
That I'm the one that always tends
To everybody's needs

I told myself it really seams
That no one cares for me
And I'm a human being too
With my very own set of needs

Sometimes it feels so heavy
With no one there to tell
To hold me and to comfort
And help refill my well

And yet to think about it
I'm luckier than most
That I am even able
To act as my own host

Some people have a party
For themselves most everyday
But my own pity parties
Are rare and end with play

As soon as I remember
The reason why we're here
To help someone to get through life
My focus becomes quite clear

The minute that we turn inward
And think we've got it bad
Is when to look at another's life
And you'll stop feeling so sad

There's always someone out there
With problems that make mine small
It makes me feel so selfish
That I had a pity party at all

Well written, Sheila, want to come to my next pity party? Hahaha, I'm only kidding.

Thank you all for your kind comments. I've been gone, and hadn't seen your reactions to my work, thank you all.

I was throwing myself the exact same party over at my house! We should've gotten together!

Very well said, Sheila.
