You were the one
That woke me each morning
When I would rather sleep
dreaming of a fantasy world
When reality was too steep

You were the reason
I decided to live
When the world hated me
I had you to brush away my tears
And promise you never would leave

Now you're gone
Yet my heart
Still is in one piece
You were my world
You showed me beauty
But you also gave to me
Something I had never owned
All the years of my life
The reason my heart is not breaking
Is because you loved me

What a great portrayal of someone being lifted up and then being able to go on her own. I admire it.....and you.
