I love him
But why do I run?
Afraid of the pain
That still lingers from the last.
He wonders why
What can I say?
I'll start to cry.
I hate being hurt so easily
I promise myself I won't give my heart away
And right when I'm so strong
Proud to say I'm not in love
I realize that my heart has long since gone
Perhaps it was never meant to be
The pain, the hurt
The apathy
In the end I'm alone
The next one shall come along
And say he'll never hurt me
And the moon will reflect in his starry eyes
I'd rather have loved and lost
Then never loved at all
Then again what is love?
Pain, jealousy, pleasure and joy?
I feel the tears and anger most of all

I really liked this one, good job! I think it reflects the way many people feel, myself included.

This poem reflects feelings we all have shared, I'm sure. I especially like the way the following lines are written since there is a rhythm in the words.

"And right when I'm so strong
Proud to say I'm not in love
I realize that my heart has long since gone
Perhaps it was never meant to be
The pain, the hurt
The apathy"

Thanks for sharing.

My sentiments exactly! Love and pain remain the same.

Re-reading this, I thought others should take a closer look.

Genea~Perhaps you don't agree with my title...but from my point of view, based on my experiences, it's perfect.

Krystal~Thank you, I wrote this poem after I lost someone that meant alot to me, oh well at least I got something out of the experience

doreen peri~Thanks!

DreamEvil~I totally agree, to know love you must know pain

Man, do I understand this one. And I for one, also believe with love comes pain, and usually a lot of it. Excellent job, Raven.
