My wife is in love with the Lone Ranger,
A stranger
Who has come into town
Brought excitement to the life
Of my wife.

He brings a hidden history
Of mystery
That takes her mind off ironing,
Cleaning the house,
And her spouse.

She doesn't recognize the dangers.
Lone Rangers
Never stay in one place,
Don't settle down

And when he's lost the rapture
Of capture,
He'll saddle his horse and
Ride out of town.

I wish that I could take her
And shake her
And bring back her senses and make her believe
That he'll leave.

One day soon she'll discover
Her lover
Was just a Lone Ranger who rode in and out
And left her without....me.

Interesting poem, Kimosabe. You do a terrific job of maintaining the exact rhythm and meter in each stanza. I wasn't really hip on the cooking and ironing description of the wife, but then again, I don't know her. Perhaps the Lone Ranger saw more to her? hehehe... anyway, reminds me of a joke we used to tell as kids....

What did the Lone Ranger say when he went to the dump?

"To the dump, to the dump, to the dump dump dump"

Sorry about that, couldn't resist.

Why she would want a Ranger when she had a Poet is beyond me!

When will some ever learn the grass is not greener on the other side? Another masterpiece of Sir Balladeer's being brought to the surface for a re-view.

is there anything you CAN'T do?
