~of songs when I was young~

from a breaking chorus
this turning point
scratching red
into the skins of songs
I once knew
when rebellion
was a true confession
when fading away
was a compliment
the instability of lies and lying
and I am lying
in this puddle
of my own self-denial
in the basement thoughts
that cower in cobwebs
so certain that I have gone
off in tinkerbell flights of fancy
I wish I could stay gone
in the innocence of sweetest breath
and sugar candy kisses
exploding silently
an indication of my sadness
for my wanting of you
this truly I know

Red,
This is the best I've seen your work (with one exception) Very clever word usage and manipulation. Great effort.
