When I want to look up haikus and senryus they're so hard to find on the open, because you can't always see at the subject if it's a haiku or not.
So I thought:

Should Haikus and Senryus deserve their own forum? What's your opinion?

A rose is a rose is a rose...I guess...

Titia~
Personally, I hope they aren't relegated to their 'own' forum ...
I remember the thrill of 'bumping' into my first of these delightful creations in the Open Forums ...
I personally think some who did not know a Senryu - from a Tanka - from a Haiku would miss out if those forms were in a forum of their own ... for sometimes people don't 'visit' what they don't already know.

I LOVE the surprise of finding one still !
Just my little half-a-nickel's worth ...

Since I adore haikus/senryus and tankas, I second what Marge says!
This way it educates the poets who are not familiar with this Japanese style
and it's always a pleasure to happen upon a senryu/haiku in open poetry or the corner pub!

Hmmmm... I was going to say yes.. I agree and would LOVE to see a new forum....

But.. after reading Marge's and Melissa's posts.. I have to lean towards the no verdict.

I've known what a haiku was for a long time. I discovered tanka however.. in one of the open forums.

On the other hand.. I love haiku .. so I would have went into the haiku/tanka forum anyway..and would have found out.

Ok.. ummm... I am flip flopping aren't I? lolol.

I voted for it.. but I think I tend to agree with Marge now.

There is society where none intrudes, by the deep sea, and music in its roar.

I voted for a new forum too, but after reading Marge's post, me too are going for a no...as I discovered these wonderful forms in open....and I learned to enjoy those simple but beautiful Japanese forms.
