Hi Linc, and thanks for the suggestion! Thanks to Ron, when the switch was made to the new forums we now have a similar feature. Whenever someone composes a reply or posts a topic, in the upper right hand corner are two very helpful links. One for dicionary.com and another entitled "More Tools" (which contains skads of useful information) Ah, if everything could be so easy!  |

I investigated spellchecker.net last year, probably around July or August. Since there were quite a few UBB sites using them, it sounded like a good solution for us, too. Unfortunately, they were having a LOT of technical problems back then, making their service a bit unreliable. I could live with unreliable. But clicking on their link when they were down, as often as not, caused your current browser page to self-destruct, too - meaning you just lost that response you spent ten minutes entering. I decided it just wasn't worth those kind of headaches. If I can find a little free time, I'll try to give them another trail run. Maybe they've solved their old problems? |

Got to agree with Ron. I was at another site, and that dern spelcheker was worthless, it always shut down right in the the middle of checking. Might I suggest you do all your work in word - use tool, spell check in there, and then cut and paste your poem to the site. This works for me. I can actually spell not too badly but it is the grammar I like to check on and word does this automatically for you. Just an idea Linc. It works for me! |
